Nita D. Mayo Heggie

Nita Heggie, age 76, of McAlester, died Saturday, November 4, 2017 at her home in McAlister, Oklahoma. She was born on October 22, 1941 in Pasadena, Texas to Ocie and Juanita (Hanks) Mayo and married Gerald L. Heggie on April 21, 1968. She was a loving mother and housewife and loved cooking, baking, bowling and her grandkids.

She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and organizing member of the Cowskin Prairie Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was a member of the North "A" Street Church of Christ in McAlester. Survivors include her husband, three children,  twelve grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and her brother.
